Meta announces global rollout of subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp; Zuckerberg signals potential entry into cloud computing if data center capacity exceeds AI needs.

Meta rolled out subscription plans: Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus at $3.99 per month, WhatsApp Plus at $2.99 per month, and Meta AI subscriptions starting at $7.99 per month for the basic tier and $19.99 per month for the premium tier.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that cloud computing is "definitely on the table" if Meta overspends on data centers and ends up with excess capacity, adding that external companies regularly approach Meta asking to purchase compute at a premium.

Meta raised its 2026 guidance for AI-related capital expenditures to between $125 billion and $145 billion, up from a prior range of $115 billion to $135 billion, following a 10% workforce reduction of its 78,000-person workforce.
