NTT West, Fsas to Offer On-Premises AI with tsuzumi 2

The partnership between Fsas Technologies and NTT West addresses a growing demand among Japanese organizations for generative AI that does not rely on public clouds. For government agencies, research labs, and companies in finance and manufacturing, the concern is data leakage and governance when using cloud services. By offering an on-premises environment, the two companies aim to meet the need for sovereign AI, where data and infrastructure stay within the country.

Fsas brings its existing customer base of about 65,000 companies and a nationwide support network with around 700 engineer locations. NTT West contributes its experience in deploying tsuzumi 2 across sectors such as local governments, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. The combined offering is designed to allow customers to start small and scale up, with support from initial consultation through operation and maintenance.

The solution is positioned as lightweight, running on a single GPU, which may help reduce introduction costs and operational overhead. NTT West will be the prime contractor, handling sales and contracts, while Fsas will provide hardware and platform support. The service is expected to begin in September 2026.
