Nvidia qualifies Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron Technology to supply HBM4 memory for Vera Rubin AI platform

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced that all three memory makers have been qualified and are already in production. Vera Rubin is expected to begin deliveries in the third quarter.

HBM4 is a key component of Nvidia's next-generation AI systems, helping move large amounts of data quickly inside advanced servers. The Vera Rubin platform will combine Nvidia's Vera CPUs, Rubin GPUs and large amounts of HBM4 memory in each server system.

For Nvidia, using three suppliers helps reduce supply risk as demand for AI infrastructure keeps rising. For Micron, Samsung and SK Hynix, qualification by Nvidia could mean major long-term orders tied to one of the most important AI platforms in the market.

Huang also said Nvidia is hiring for a new research and development center in Korea and plans meetings with Samsung, SK, Hyundai, LG and Naver.
