Plaid's CFO sees AI usage taking off internally as employees experiment with tools on their own time

Seun Sodipo, CFO of Plaid, uses AI as a thought partner to challenge her assumptions and identify blind spots in her strategic thinking, in addition to practical applications like preparing for meetings and organizing her week.

Plaid employees regularly experiment with AI in their spare time and share prototypes in an internal Slack channel; a finance employee used AI tools to run 2,000 Monte Carlo simulations (a technique that predicts possible outcomes by running thousands of 'what-if' scenarios) without relying on a data engineer or data scientist.

More than 400 AI companies now build on Plaid's infrastructure, representing 20% of new customers in 2025, as the company positions itself as foundational infrastructure for an AI-native financial system.
