Nvidia's Vera Rubin CPU platform enters $200 billion market for agentic AI, expanding beyond graphics chips

During its fiscal 2027 Q1 earnings call (ended April 26), CEO Jensen Huang announced that Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform—a CPU built specifically for agentic AI (AI systems that autonomously make decisions and take actions)—is entering a new $200 billion total addressable market.

In the most recent quarter, Nvidia generated $81.6 billion in revenue, up 85% year over year, with over 92% ($75.2 billion) from its data center segment. Nvidia expects stand-alone CPU revenue to be $20 billion this year.

The Vera Rubin platform represents a shift in Nvidia's business model from a graphics chip company to a full-stack AI utility ecosystem, positioning the company to become one of the leading CPU suppliers in the world.
