Sign up free →Siri AI is described by Apple as "entirely new" — more conversational and capable than the previous version, with a customizable expressive voice. It will be accessible systemwide to read onscreen content and interact with apps, with queries processed either on device or via Apple's Private Cloud Compute.
On iPhone, users can access Siri AI by swiping down from the Dynamic Island; on Mac it's available from Spotlight; on Vision Pro, looking at a floating orb visualization starts a conversation without saying "Hey, Siri." Siri is also getting its own dedicated app with a conversational interface, saved conversation history, and iCloud sync to continue discussions across devices.
Siri AI is based on new Apple Foundation Models built in collaboration with Google, and can interact with apps to answer questions, suggest actions based on images, and help manage messages and calendar. Siri AI is available to developers today and will enter public beta later this year, but will not initially be available in the EU on iOS or iPadOS, will not launch in China, and will only be available in English at launch.
Some of the most powerful new on-device AI features will be limited to iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPads with at least an M4 chip, and Macs with at least an M3 (iPads and Macs also requiring 12GB of RAM or more).
