STT.ai releases MCP Server connecting Claude and Cursor to live audio transcription with AI analysis in a single conversation

STT.ai published an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets Claude Desktop, Cursor, and other compatible AI tools transcribe YouTube videos, podcasts, and audio files, then immediately ask questions about them — without leaving the conversation. Available now via pip install sttai-mcp under MIT license.

Unlike competing transcription integrations (Otter, Fireflies, Granola, Read AI) that only let you search past transcripts, STT.ai's server adds real-time transcription and chat-with-transcript features, so you can paste a YouTube link and get answers with timestamped sources in one turn instead of jumping between apps.

Knowledge workers and students can now use Claude to extract action items, sentiment, entities, and generate summaries or study guides directly from video content without manually downloading or uploading files — turning long videos into searchable, analyzable text within your AI chat.
