Nvidia B300 server prices nearly doubled in China to about 7 million yuan ($1 million) each, driven by U.S. export curbs and strong AI computing demand

Prices for Nvidia's B300 server (a high-performance AI computing system housing eight B300 GPUs) have climbed to about 7 million yuan ($1 million) in China, nearly double the 4 million yuan price from late last year, according to industry sources cited by Reuters.

A B300 server costs about $550,000 in the United States, up from around $500,000 late last year. The sharper price surge in China reflects a scarcity premium driven by tighter U.S. curbs on exports and pressure on grey-market supply channels.

Chinese AI models increased their share of global token usage to 32% in March 2026 from 5% a year earlier, with companies like MiniMax, Zhipu, and Alibaba's Qwen reporting token usage rising as much as six to seven folds in February and March compared with December, according to Morgan Stanley.
