Alphabet shares fall over 2% as Google unveils sprawling AI product lineup at developer conference

Google announced major updates across multiple products including a redesigned Search interface (described as the biggest overhaul in 25 years), Gmail Live, Docs Live, Gemini Spark, a new Mac app with agent capabilities, Google Stitch, agent tools in Google Antigravity, Google Pics, Google Flow, and Google Flow Music.

Google's AI strategy leverages its scale: 13 Google services have more than a billion users, while five have more than 3 billion users, giving the company access to personal and real-world data that rivals may struggle to match.

Investors expressed concern about focus and potential user confusion: the risk is that consumers could feel overwhelmed by overlapping AI tools, confusing branding, and unclear pricing—similar scrutiny Microsoft has faced with Copilot.
