Nvidia invests $500 million in Corning to address AI data center networking bottlenecks as Amazon and Google pursue alternative chip strategies

Nvidia made a $500 million investment in Corning Inc., backing the company's optical and glass technologies to improve high-speed connectivity and efficiency in next-generation AI data centers.

Amazon Web Services plans to deploy 1 million Nvidia GPUs beginning this year through 2027, including Nvidia networking technologies such as Spectrum chips and ConnectX systems. Google is accelerating its custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs—specialized chips designed by Google for AI tasks) strategy and expanding external TPU sales.

Jim Cramer stated on X that despite competition from Google and Amazon, 'Nvidia's tough to beat,' citing Corning as particularly strong technology. Chinese firms are reportedly paying nearly $1 million per Nvidia B300 server, reinforcing Nvidia's pricing power globally.
