Amazon.com has signed a multibillion dollar fiber optics supply agreement with Corning focused on expanding Amazon's U.S. data center infrastructure and supporting American manufacturing, with workforce training initiatives tied to the buildout of Amazon's cloud and AI infrastructure.

Dedicated fiber supply within the U.S. supports data center projects central to how Amazon delivers compute and storage to customers, and the deal supports 1,000 Corning jobs in North Carolina and funds a fiber technician training program.

The long-term, multiyear fiber commitment aligns with Amazon's roughly US$200b of annual capital expenditure tied to AI chips and cloud infrastructure, locking in multiyear fiber supply to match that spending with more predictable input availability as peers like Microsoft and Alphabet also race to secure data center components.
