Compatible third-party AI models, called "Extensions," will be able to run Siri, Writing Tools, and Image Playground.
Users will be able to choose their preferred AI model through the Settings app by installing a compatible AI app from the App Store. Apple will also allow users to select different Siri voices for different AI models—for example, one voice for Apple's AI model and another for an instance running ChatGPT.
Apple is already internally testing integrations with Google and Anthropic's AI models. So far, ChatGPT has been the only third-party AI model integrated into Apple Intelligence, though this may change.
