TrendForce raises 2026–2027 memory market forecasts as Agentic AI inference workloads drive DRAM and NAND flash demand.

TrendForce revised its 2026 global memory market forecast upward to $889.3 billion (from $551.6 billion previously), and its 2027 forecast to more than $1.28 trillion (from $842.7 billion), representing annual growth of approximately 44% in 2027.

Agentic AI systems (AI agents that complete tasks autonomously) are shifting from single queries to continuous iterative cycles with expanding context windows, increasing demand for KV cache (temporary memory storing query-response pairs). CPU-to-GPU ratios in next-generation AI servers are shifting from the traditional 1:8 toward 1:4 or higher; NVIDIA's NVL72 rack adopts a 1:2 configuration, expanding server DRAM capacity requirements.

NAND flash pricing remains resilient despite strong demand. TrendForce revised its 2026 NAND flash market forecast to $270.6 billion, representing annual growth of 280.7%, and projects 2027 to nearly $379.4 billion with annual growth of 40.2%. High-performance SSD technologies are penetrating AI inference and agentic workloads as alternatives to costly HBM and speed-limited HDDs.
