Anthropic unveils twelve new plugins and over 20 MCP connectors for Claude tailored to legal practice areas

Anthropic released twelve plugins and over 20 MCP connectors (integrations that link Claude to external data sources) designed for contract law, employment law, litigation, and other legal specialties. Users can now connect Claude directly to Thomson Reuters' CoCounsel Legal, DocuSign, Everlaw, Box, and Harvey. All features are available through Claude Cowork, with enterprise admins able to enable them in workspace settings.

Lawyers have become one of Claude's most-used professional groups. Over 20,000 lawyers signed up for a recent webinar on using Claude, according to Anthropic's Chief Legal Officer Mark Pike.

Claude Cowork has known AI security vulnerabilities including prompt injections (attempts to manipulate an AI's responses through crafted inputs), which present concerns for law firms handling sensitive client data.
