Musk stated on X that the deal is 'a 180 day lease with 90 day notice mutual cancellation thereafter,' but SpaceX's S-1 filing states Anthropic 'has agreed to pay a monthly fee through May 2029,' with the same language repeated on multiple pages including '$1.25 billion per month through May 2029.'

SpaceX's filing describes termination terms as '90 days' notice' by either party, while Musk framed the short-term structure as 'our request, not Anthropic's' and said 'we might need it back at some point' if compute becomes scarce.

The discrepancy occurs during SpaceX's quiet period (the SEC review window for its S-1 filing), and neither xAI nor Anthropic responded to requests for clarification on the actual deal duration.
