Mark Cuban warns enterprise AI will become 'a mess' in next 5 years due to fragmented, incompatible models from competing tech giants

Mark Cuban stated that every LLM (large language model—AI that understands and generates text) operates as a 'walled garden' competing against other foundational models, forcing corporate IT departments to repeatedly decide when to adopt, run parallel, or abandon rapidly shifting technologies.

Aaron Levie, CEO of Box Inc., warned that deploying AI agents (autonomous AI that performs workflows) across legacy corporate infrastructure requires engineering strict access controls, heavily documenting workflows, and keeping pace with architectural shifts—work that 'will exceed anything we imagine today.'

Cuban forecasted: 'In the next 5 years enterprise AI is going to be a mess, with all the different implementations and flavors and sources and models,' because distinct models do not seamlessly integrate.
