Dell and Nvidia selected by TotalEnergies to design and install Pangea 5 supercomputer for seismic imaging and AI research

Dell Technologies and Nvidia have been chosen by TotalEnergies to design and install Pangea 5, a high performance supercomputer. The project is more than €100m in size and expands Dell's role in high performance computing infrastructure for AI-driven research and energy efficiency.

Pangea 5 is designed to multiply TotalEnergies' computing power by six while targeting about 40% lower energy use at comparable performance. The system will support advanced AI and data workloads including seismic imaging and integrated power models.

The project positions Dell as a key supplier to regulated industries that require large-scale, energy-conscious computing power, reinforcing Dell's hardware-centric role in AI infrastructure alongside existing partnerships such as Trust3 AI.
