ACI Worldwide convenes payments leaders in London on 29–30 June 2026 to address sovereignty, fraud liability, and AI-driven commerce

ACI Worldwide announced Payments Unleashed EMEA, a two-day, invitation-only event in London on 29–30 June 2026 bringing together executives from ACI Worldwide, Mastercard, Santander, Amazon, NVIDIA, PayPal, Rabobank and Nationwide, alongside regulators, analysts and fintech leaders, with a keynote from Dr. Leda Glyptis.

The event focuses on four industry shifts: European policymakers pushing to reduce dependence on non-European payment infrastructure through initiatives such as the digital Euro and Wero; new reimbursement rules shifting fraud losses onto banks; the rise of pay-by-bank and instant account-to-account payments challenging card infrastructure; and AI agents beginning to move from recommending purchases to executing them, raising unresolved questions around authentication, liability and customer relationship ownership.

Mainstage sessions will address three strategic questions: where to place bets as instant payments and fraud costs accelerate; whether Europe can reclaim payments sovereignty without breaking scale; and how AI is crossing from optimisation into execution as agentic systems (AI systems that make autonomous decisions and take actions) begin to transact.
