Nvidia and Hyundai in final talks to build AI research center in South Korea

Nvidia and Hyundai Motor are in final talks with South Korean officials to build an artificial intelligence research center tied to the Saemangeum reclamation project on South Korea's southwest coast.

The talks build on a 2025 agreement between Nvidia and Hyundai that included plans for GPU supply and joint AI sites in South Korea. For Hyundai, the partnership could support AI work tied to vehicles, robotics, manufacturing and future mobility.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to visit South Korea this week and meet Hyundai Chair Euisun Chung, along with other business leaders. The next catalyst will be whether the companies confirm the project and provide details on timing, investment size and scope.
