At the heart of the RX10 V is a real-time AI recognition system powered by an on-camera processing unit. The camera recognizes people, animals, birds, insects, vehicles, trains, and aircraft, with an automatic mode that identifies object type and enables the camera to track them. The AI also supports human pose estimation, allowing recognition and tracking even when subjects have their backs turned or their faces obscured by helmets or sunglasses. Real-time tracking is activated by tapping the target object on the screen; once engaged, autofocus and auto-exposure update at up to 60 times per second to maintain lock on moving subjects. This rapid update rate enables high-speed continuous burst shooting at up to 30 fps with full AF/AE tracking throughout.

Video recording reaches 4K at up to 120p, with up to 5× smooth slow-motion playback possible at 4K resolution. New to the RX10 V is compatibility with Sony's Creators' App, proprietary software that allows users to connect via smartphone to transfer files directly to cloud storage or the phone, remotely control the camera, and update features and firmware. The camera integrates a cost-efficient battery showing approximately 50% or more improvement compared with the NP-FZ100 model.
