Lawson and KDDI open "Happy Lawson Town" flagship store in Ikeda with AI concierge, disaster support features, and community spaces on June 4, 2026

Lawson and KDDI opened the first "Happy Lawson Town" store on June 4, 2026 in Ikeda, Osaka. The store combines Lawson's community presence with KDDI's technology to create a neighborhood hub across a 4,007.2 m² site with 366.51 m² of retail space selling approximately 3,900 product types.

The store features an AI concierge ("Ikeda City AI Supporter") offering remote consultations through "Ponta Yorozu Consultation Office" for administrative, home appliance, and daily life support; an AI drone stationed on-site for regular remote operations and disaster response; and disaster-support functions including Starlink connectivity, solar panels, battery storage, emergency toilets, and emergency onigiri prepared in the shop kitchen.

Lawson aims to expand "Happy Lawson Town" to 100 locations nationwide by 2030, and plans to deploy 100 "disaster support Lawson" stores nationwide by fiscal 2030.
