What happened

Palo Alto Networks' Prisma AIRS security API is being integrated with Databricks' Unity AI Gateway, a centralized interface for managing AI models and agents. The integration will inspect AI prompts, responses, and tool calls in real time to detect and block threats like prompt injections, data leakage, malware, and malicious URLs.

Why it matters

As organizations deploy more autonomous AI agents, security teams face a challenge—traditional security tools cannot detect conversational attacks or the risks introduced by AI workflows. This partnership allows security to be enforced at the governance layer without requiring developers to refactor code or install complex agents, removing what the companies call 'security friction' from production deployments.
