Google rolls out Gemini memory feature in Europe and adds tools to import data from other AI assistants

Google is rolling out "Memories," a personalization feature that lets Gemini learn from past chats to tailor future responses. The feature stores details such as name, job, hobbies, or location and is on by default but can be turned off in settings.

Google is adding import tools that let users move memories, context, and chat history from other AI apps to Gemini by uploading a ZIP file of chat history or pasting an import prompt that summarizes preferences from another app.

Both features roll out to all users in Europe in the coming weeks, after previously being available to US users.
