Palo Alto Networks said Gartner named it a Leader for a fourth consecutive year in both the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Security Service Edge and SASE Platforms, placing it highest in Ability to Execute and furthest in Completeness of Vision for SSE.
Why it matters
The company is presenting the recognition as validation of its push to sell one integrated security platform rather than separate tools, which it says lets customers adopt AI without security becoming the bottleneck.

Palo Alto Networks is stacking up third-party analyst placements across several adjacent markets at once: firewall, SASE, SSE, operational technology security and AI security. The company highlights that it was the only vendor named a 4x Leader in both the SASE Platforms and Security Service Edge reports, and that for SSE it was placed highest in Ability to Execute and furthest in Completeness of Vision.
Beyond Gartner, the company cites a Forrester Wave for Operational Technology Security Solutions where it was named a Leader across 11 providers and 21 criteria, and an Omdia Market Radar where it earned an advanced rating in seven of thirteen capability areas. It also points to a Frost Radar for healthcare infrastructure cybersecurity in which, it says, only it led on both the Growth and Innovation axes.
The company frames all of this as backing for a product strategy aimed at the "Frontier AI era": Prisma AIRS as a control plane for enterprise AI, Prisma SASE extended to secure agent-to-app traffic, and PAN-OS 12.2 Ceres for network security. Whether those designations translate into customer wins is not something the announcement establishes; the body presents the awards and the roadmap as parallel facts rather than showing a causal link between them.
