AWS Bedrock now offers OpenAI's latest models, Codex, and a new agent-building service following the lifted exclusivity restriction on OpenAI products.

Amazon announced on Tuesday that its AWS Bedrock service now includes OpenAI's latest models, its code-writing service Codex, and a new product called Bedrock Managed Agents for creating OpenAI-powered AI agents (software that can make decisions and take actions autonomously).

Bedrock Managed Agents is specifically designed to use OpenAI's reasoning models, with features including agent steering and security. Bedrock itself is Amazon's AI app building and model-choosing service.

This followed a revised OpenAI/Microsoft agreement announced on Monday that removed Microsoft's exclusive rights to OpenAI's products, which had previously blocked AWS from offering them despite Amazon's up-to-$50-billion deal with OpenAI.
