What happened
Bright Data released Scraper Studio, a new tool that accepts a plain-language description of a website and desired data fields, then automatically generates a custom scraper, publishes it as an API, and repairs it when the page layout changes. The CLI integrates with Claude Code and includes pre-built extractors for 40+ platforms (Amazon, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, etc.), while Scraper Studio handles all other sites via natural-language generation.
Why it matters
Claude Code's built-in web tools (web_fetch and web_search) return summaries or ranked results, not full page content, and curl gets blocked by many sites and cannot render JavaScript. Scraper Studio removes that friction—developers no longer need to manually parse HTML or rewrite scrapers each time a site's layout changes. It lets AI agents provisioning data sources on the fly, shaped to exact fields needed, without leaving the code editor.
What to watch
Scraper Studio runs both in the CLI and via a dashboard, where users can generate collectors, approve fields, publish APIs, and repair scrapers in plain language when a page change occurs. Try it at the link provided in the article.
