Anthropic's S-1 shows 79% of third-quarter revenue came from outside its top five customers, and no customer exceeded 10% of revenue in the nine months ended Sept. 30.
Why it matters
That revenue diversity contrasts with hyperscalers whose AI growth has leaned on just two or three customers, a concentration investors tend to dislike.
WHO IT HITSEnterprise customers and investors assessing Anthropic's IPO now have a clearer read on how spread out its revenue is, and on how much of it comes from large accounts.

Anthropic's filing arrives after a long wait and confirms numbers that had already leaked, but it also puts a finer point on how the company makes money. At the end of 2023, two customers made up 54% of total revenue; by the third quarter of this year, 79% of revenue came from outside the top five customers, and no customer exceeded 10% of revenue over the nine months ended Sept. 30. Customers spending at least $100,000 on a trailing basis accounted for 74% of total revenue in the first half of 2026, which points to enterprise adoption as the engine of growth.
The less flattering figure is the pace of that growth. Revenue for the three months ending Sept. 30 was 86 times the $197 million booked in the three months ending Dec. 31, 2024, implying roughly $16.9 billion for the third quarter. That is nearly 47% growth from the second quarter, down from 144% in the prior quarter. Saxo Markets chief investment strategist Charu Chanana said the market has moved from simply rewarding growth to asking tougher questions about funding, cost of capital and returns, and noted that a valuation above $2 trillion would be roughly 30 times annualized Q3 revenue. D.A. Davidson's Gil Luria attributed the deceleration to competition from frontier models like OpenAI and open-weight models rather than to broader AI demand.
