Anthropic Claude Opus 5 now available on Snowflake Cortex AI

CoCo Desktop, newly generally available on macOS and Windows, provides developers with a dedicated AI workspace that has Snowflake's catalog and RBAC roles pre-loaded, eliminating cold starts and governance gaps. For data engineers and analysts, CoCo turns natural language into production-ready pipelines and analytics while remaining governed and enterprise-grade. Snowflake CoWork, a personal work agent for knowledge workers, is extended by Opus 5 with enhanced reasoning and greater consistency across multi-step workflows. Its Deep Research feature can decompose complex business questions across structured and unstructured enterprise data and return fully cited answers in minutes. Cortex AI Functions, which use SQL to build scalable AI pipelines across multimodal data, now support Opus 5 through functions like AI_COMPLETE, allowing analysts to apply natural language instructions directly in SQL. Cortex Inference enables developers to build agentic enterprise applications within Snowflake's security perimeter using Opus 5's adjustable effort levels to balance reasoning depth and latency. Developers can integrate using the Anthropic SDK by pointing it to their Snowflake Cortex Inference endpoint, enabling seamless integration with familiar Anthropic tooling.

Snowflake emphasizes that all of this capability remains within its secure, governed perimeter, maintaining enterprise data governance and security controls.
