Kenyan court extends suspension of U.S. Ebola quarantine facility for three weeks; two killed in related protests

A Kenyan court blocked a proposed 50-bed Ebola quarantine unit on an air force base in central Kenya for another three weeks and ordered the government to disclose its agreement with Washington. Two people were killed during protests against the facility.

The facility is intended to treat Americans exposed to the virus in Democratic Republic of Congo or Uganda. Kenyan protesters argue the U.S. is offloading health risk to Kenya.

Despite a court suspension issued last week, U.S. military aircraft have continued to fly in staff and equipment in recent days, according to a U.S. official and diplomatic sources.
