Gecko Robotics tests Ouster's Rev8 digital lidar sensors to enhance infrastructure inspections with colorized 3D data

Gecko Robotics is integrating Ouster's new Rev8 digital lidar sensors into its Cantilever operating platform to enhance its "detect and repair" missions for critical infrastructure inspections.

Rev8 outputs inherently colorized, structured 3D data alongside ambient infrared and intensity data, enabling Gecko's AI software to detect structural anomalies that were previously difficult to visualize.

Gecko states that capturing every 3D point in full color with greater precision allows its software to understand asset health with better certainty and deliver more actionable data to customers.
