Figma launches an AI agent within its collaborative canvas to generate and edit designs from natural language prompts

Figma has introduced an AI agent that runs on design-specific AI models, allowing users to direct it via natural language text prompts to generate new designs, edit existing ones, automate design iterations, and run multiple agents simultaneously on the multiplayer canvas.

The agent is first launching in Figma Design, with plans to expand to the company's other products as Figma seeks to bring design and code closer together in its apps.

In Q1 2026, Figma reported revenue of $333.4 million, 46% more than a year earlier, despite competition from Canva, Adobe, Flora, Krea, and Dessn.
