Pit, a new AI startup founded by Voi cofounders, has raised $16 million in seed funding led by a16z to build enterprise software automation tools.

Pit is led by Voi CEO Fredrik Hjelm and Adam Jafer (former Voi engineer) alongside other former iZettle and Klarna engineers. The startup closed a $16 million seed round led by a16z, also backed by Lakestar, Pit's founders, tech executives, and Nordic families.

Pit positions itself as an 'AI product team as a service,' offering Pit Studio (which lets enterprise employees guide AI through business processes) and Pit Cloud (software designed to meet enterprise governance, certifications, and auditability requirements). The startup focuses on automating internal back-office and support functions, not customer-facing applications.

In mid-January, Pit began testing with pilot customers in telecom, healthcare, logistics and other sectors. The startup is now preparing to scale commercially by hiring solution engineers to embed themselves with large customers to drive adoption and meet expectations around process speed, productivity, and time savings.
