Memoket began selling the Memoket Gem on the 21st for 31,980 yen — an 11g AI recorder that mounts on an Apple Watch band, records up to 20 hours continuously, and uses its KITE long-term memory engine to link conversations across dates and projects.
Why it matters
The KITE engine lets users pull information across separate meetings and projects rather than reviewing one recording at a time, a step beyond simple transcription and summarization.
WHO IT HITSKnowledge workers who juggle multiple meetings and projects — and the IT and compliance teams that will vet how recorded conversations are stored and processed — are the first audience for a device that turns past conversations into searchable memory.

Memoket was founded by former executives of Anker, the mobile battery maker, and the Memoket Gem is its first product aimed at turning everyday conversation into usable AI memory. The device is designed to be worn several ways — on an Apple Watch band, a dedicated wristband, a clip, or a necklace — and it processes recordings in Amazon Web Services' cloud when AI functions are needed, while storing audio on the user's smartphone.
The company says it will not use recordings to train AI models without the user's consent, and it emphasizes transparency: a red light on the device indicates recording is in progress. Memoket chose not to record phone calls via a smartphone attachment because the other party might not realize they are being recorded.
Although the product was initially developed for work use, trial deployments have expanded into medical and educational settings, such as recording a doctor's explanation for an elderly family member or capturing university lectures. Memoket says demand from Japanese consumers was larger than expected — several hundred pre-orders came through its English site before a Japanese site existed — which led it to prioritize Japan and consider setting up a local subsidiary.
