GitHub Copilot introduces per-token pricing for AI model usage across multiple providers, with costs varying by model and token type.

GitHub Copilot now bills token consumption in AI credits (1 AI credit = $0.01 USD), with per-token rates shown for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI models. Input tokens, output tokens, and cached tokens are priced separately depending on the model.

Code completions and next edit suggestions remain unlimited for all paid Copilot plans. Copilot code review is billed in two ways: token consumption in AI credits, and agentic infrastructure (GitHub Actions minutes) on GitHub-hosted runners starting June 1, 2026.

Starting June 1, 2026, Copilot Pro and Copilot Pro+ annual subscribers will experience changes to model multipliers. For example, Claude Opus 4.5 multiplier changes from 3 to 15, and GPT-5.4 mini changes from 0.33 to 6.
