Scout is powered by OpenClaw, an open-source software that has been available for several months. Microsoft has taken steps to ensure the agent cannot run independently or delete emails, and users can authorize actions ahead of time; the agent only has access to what users have authorized.
Scout will pull from customers' monthly credit allowance through GitHub Copilot business and enterprise subscriptions, which respectively cost $19 and $39 per seat per month, with the option to buy more credits. Microsoft has not disclosed its full pricing plan.
