What happened
Vertiv introduced Vertiv SmartIT, a pre-engineered architecture integrating rack infrastructure, DC power conversion, direct-to-chip liquid cooling and monitoring, factory-validated before shipment and available now globally.
Why it matters
Factory validation moves integration off-site, limiting commissioning scope to facility connections and reducing multi-vendor coordination to a single order, one partner and one architecture spanning rack, power, cooling and monitoring, per Vertiv.
WHO IT HITSEnterprise IT teams and colocation providers deploying high-density AI infrastructure can order a single pre-validated rack, power, cooling and monitoring package, which Vertiv says limits on-site integration work to facility connections.

Vertiv's SmartIT builds on prior work with NVIDIA: the solution was previously deployed with NVIDIA to support the NVIDIA DGX™ GB300, which Vertiv describes as the highest-performing, largest-scale AI system available for enterprises. That deployment experience appears to inform the factory-validated design, which Vertiv says reduces on-site integration complexity by connecting to facility power and cooling infrastructure.
The architecture is positioned for enterprises, research institutions and colocation providers working across both existing facilities and new data centers. Vertiv's stated goal is to compress deployment timelines by limiting on-site commissioning to facility connections, and to reduce multi-vendor coordination through a single order and one architecture spanning rack, power, cooling and monitoring. The same building block is designed to scale from single-rack to multi-rack deployments without redesign between phases.
Vertiv also points to complementary products—SmartRun for row-level integration, rack PDUs for power distribution and monitoring, and Unify for integrated monitoring and controls—that extend management beyond the rack. The company showcased a SmartIT demo unit with an NVIDIA HGX™ Rubin NVL8 at NVIDIA GTC Berlin in October, indicating the solution is being positioned alongside NVIDIA's forthcoming Rubin-based systems as AI demand grows.
