What happened
HENNGE said on October 1 it set up HENNGE AI, a subsidiary with only two directors and no other employees, where AI agents handle development, marketing and customer support.
Why it matters
If the model works, HENNGE wants to feed what it learns inside this subsidiary back to users, while sales and some back-office work stay with the parent company.
What to watch
The test is whether AI-run work surfaces real governance and cost problems rather than easy wins, and the AI Gateway service is due to launch by September 2027.
WHO IT HITSCorporate strategists and governance teams weighing how far to hand operational work to AI agents will watch whether a company can run real business functions with almost no human staff.

HENNGE already runs cloud security services, including HENNGE One, and this is the first time it has set up a domestic subsidiary. That makes HENNGE AI less a conventional spin-off than a purpose-built experiment: the company wants to see what organizational structure fits AI agents, and it has deliberately pushed sales and some back-office duties back to the parent so the experiment stays narrow.
A key piece of the plan is the AI Gateway the subsidiary is developing, which would centralize access to multiple AI models and make usage costs and security settings visible. HENNGE AI's representative director, Ken Imaizumi, argues that governance and cost problems in AI use cannot be understood without hands-on practice, and the company says it intends to feed what it learns back to users.
The reading of the stakes hinges on whether an AI-run operation surfaces problems that are hard to see from outside. If it does, that knowledge could be worth more to customers than the experiment costs; if not, the value may be limited to HENNGE itself. A built-in constraint is that the subsidiary still depends on the parent for sales and back-office work, so how "AI-run" it truly is may be the test.
