Lowe's launches AI tool to turn jobsite notes into quotes in minutes

Lowe's Companies, Inc. announced the launch of Material Lists on May 21, 2026, an AI-powered solution designed to streamline the estimating and quoting process for Pro customers. The tool converts handwritten notes, photos, spreadsheets and other supported file types into quote-ready orders in minutes, with bilingual support for English and Spanish.

According to the company, many Pro customers (small contractors and business users) currently spend significant time on manual estimating—translating jobsite material lists into accurate quotes for their end customers. This manual work slows response times, increases the risk of errors, and diverts time and attention away from actual project execution. Quonta (Que) Vance, executive vice president of Pro and Home Services at Lowe's, stated: "Time is one of the most valuable resources for Pros and every minute spent manually building estimates or organizing material lists is time taken away from serving customers and growing their businesses." Material Lists addresses this by using SKU matching and automated list digitization developed by Lowe's Technology to turn raw material information into organized product lists and quotes, reducing manual data entry.

The tool is available to MyLowe's Pro Rewards members through Lowes.com and the Lowe's mobile app, allowing Pros to manage quotes, track orders, review purchase history and handle purchasing workflows from the field or in store. Material Lists is positioned as one element of Lowe's broader Pro toolkit, complementing existing offerings like Blueprint Takeoffs—which generates material lists and estimates directly from project plans—and Pro Extended Aisle, which expands product availability and order quantities beyond what customers can see on store shelves.
