Ubitium raised $14 million in seed funding led by Ibex Investors, bringing total seed funding to $18 million since its 2024 founding. Its first chip, the UB108 with 256 processing elements on Samsung's 8nm process, ran signal processing, AI inference and real-time control on one reconfigurable array.
Why it matters
The funding follows that return of first silicon, which showed one universal processor could handle the three kinds of computing physical AI machines need, potentially replacing the multi-chip arrangements used today.
WHO IT HITSChip designers and embedded hardware teams building drones, robots, vehicles and industrial equipment could eventually consolidate separate processors into one, and investors funding physical AI hardware now have a new seed-stage benchmark.

Ubitium was founded in 2024 and taped out its first chip a year later, returning silicon that demonstrated signal processing, AI inference and real-time control on one processor architecture. That result is the technical foundation the new $14 million round builds on.
The company's thesis holds that physical AI machines — drones, robots, vehicles and industrial equipment — need three kinds of computing to run together: perceive, think and act. General-purpose robotics alone could become a $370 billion market by 2040 under McKinsey's base-case forecast, which suggests the size of the opportunity investors are positioning for.
Ubitium says it holds 17 granted patents covering its core technology, with more pending. Its team brings over 250 career patents and over 350 peer-reviewed publications. Initial customers are building high-resolution radar and audio systems for physical AI's sensing layer, while autonomous systems including drones are the target applications for the complete perceive, think and act loop.
