Sign up free →Google announced at its annual I/O event on Tuesday that the Gemini app is receiving new features: a Daily Brief digest that pulls information from inbox, calendar, and tasks; a redesigned interface using a design language called 'Neural Expressive'; access to Gemini Omni, a new AI video model; and Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent (an AI that works autonomously in the background).
Daily Brief organizes information into a clear overview and prioritizes tasks with suggested next steps. Gemini's text responses now display key information in bold at the top, with additional details and images appearing as users scroll, replacing the wall-of-text format typical of most AI chatbots. Gemini Omni lets users upload audio, images, and video to generate high-quality video from prompts.
Daily Brief is rolling out today to Google AI subscribers in the United States. Gemini Spark, currently in testing, is expected to be available to Google AI Ultra subscribers next week. Gemini Omni is rolling out to Google Flow and YouTube Shorts for Google AI subscribers. The Gemini app has more than 900 million monthly users and is available in over 230 countries and in more than 70 languages.
