The MOU places Headwaters inside SoftBank's AGENTIC STAR Integration Partner Alliance, a program SoftBank launched to pair its AGENTIC STAR platform and technical support with partners' development strength and industry knowledge. Under the agreement, Headwaters takes the lead on building and delivering AI agents for end-user companies, handling everything from requirements definition and business consulting through design, development, implementation, and post-launch operations and maintenance.
Headwaters frames its value around governance and reuse. It has built quality, security, and governance practices into its AI development, drawing on Microsoft Solutions Partner specializations including AI Platform on Microsoft Azure and Agentic DevOps with Microsoft Azure and GitHub. Its SAIDDar asset organizes proposal, requirements, design, implementation, review, and testing knowledge into organizational assets that AI agents can execute, and its process has undergone third-party review by ISSI. SDI converts judgment criteria, exception handling, and business assumptions from conversations and interviews into business knowledge that AI agents can use.
The partnership also looks beyond individual projects. Headwaters says it intends to accumulate development knowledge and business knowledge continuously so deployments can spread across multiple departments and group companies, and it is considering medium- to long-term expansion into on-site operations in manufacturing, logistics, mobility, and social infrastructure, aiming to create new opportunities in physical AI by connecting AI judgment to real-world actions and operations.
