SK Telecom (SK Hynix's sister company) will build a gigawatt-scale AI cloud in South Korea using Nvidia technology, with the first AI data centre to come online in 2027.
Nvidia also announced it will cooperate with Naver (a South Korean internet company) and Doosan (a conglomerate developing robots and materials for Nvidia's Blackwell chips). Both companies will use Nvidia technology to build AI data centres.
SK Hynix said the partnership would help it enter new AI fields such as personal AI and physical AI, and maintain a stable supply of memory chips despite advanced memory semiconductors' long development cycles. Deal values were not disclosed.
