
Sortera's second facility in Lebanon, Tenn. is moving into full operational status this month. Combined with the company's Markle, Ind. flagship facility, Sortera has increased its annual processing capacity to an estimated 240 million lb. (108.8 million kg).
The facility uses Sortera's proprietary AI-driven sorting technology to transform mixed alloy scrap into high-value materials for automotive, construction, and aerospace industries. The upcycled metals require approximately 95% less energy than virgin aluminum production and provide a reduction in CO₂ footprint.
The Lebanon site achieved full operational status on schedule and within budget, and successfully produced sellable, high-purity material within its first week of operation, demonstrating the maturity of the company's AI-powered platform.
