Samsung Seoul Hospital's rise in the Newsweek ranking comes as it accelerates an organization-wide AI transformation (AX) spearheaded by the AX Promotion Team launched in June. The hospital has already deployed its in-house SMC-GPT conversational AI assistant for tasks such as clinical note summarization and administrative support, and it plans to expand into medical robot integration.
Looking ahead, the hospital will unveil DIA, an AI service linked to its Darwin medical information system, in the second half of this year. DIA will not only search and analyze electronic medical record (EMR) data but also convert conversations between medical staff and patients into text and reflect them in medical records in real time. The hospital also aims to upgrade its E-ScareNet platform to support collaborative diagnosis with partner medical institutions by linking patient-entered health data and biometric signals from smart devices to care.
Hospital Director Park Seung-woo said, "Now that AX has become a topic of the times, the pace of future medical development will exceed expectations," and added, "Through continuous innovation, we will share future medicine created by Korea with the world."
