FBI arrests two men for distributing AI-generated sexual imagery; one suspect used his own photo on the porn site account

Cornelius 'Neil' Shannon, 51, was arrested and accused of publishing approximately 360 AI-generated albums featuring approximately 90 women, primarily political figures, actresses, and musicians, with the albums viewed more than 2 million times.

Law enforcement linked Shannon to the porn site account by cross-referencing his own profile photo with Department of Motor Vehicle records and surveillance photos, showing a man in a Mets baseball shirt that appeared to be Shannon.

Both suspects arrested risk up to two years in prison if convicted under TIDA (Travesty and Indecency Act). The FTC has also warned 12 nudify toolmakers (software that creates sexualized deepfakes) as officials move to enforce the law.
