MIT Technology Review hosts discussion on how AI systems might develop understanding of the physical world

MIT Technology Review convened editor in chief Mat Honan, senior AI editor Will Douglas Heaven, and AI reporter Grace Huckins for a subscriber-only conversation exploring how AI might enter the physical world.

The discussion focuses on world models (AI systems designed to understand and simulate the external environment), which have become a central topic in AI development as companies work to overcome the limitations of LLMs (language models that understand and generate text).
