Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says most workers will be replaced by people who use AI, not by AI itself

Huang told a Stanford panel that 'It is unlikely most people will lose a job to AI' but 'It is most likely that most people will lose their job to somebody who uses AI.' He emphasized that automating specific tasks does not necessarily eliminate the job itself.

At Nvidia, software engineers who know how to use AI and agentic systems (AI agents that autonomously prompt for instructions during development) are 'the most popular and the most successful,' according to Huang. AI now helps engineers shorten the time from idea to coding, allowing teams to move more quickly to the next idea.

Radiology provides a real-world example: despite predictions that the profession would disappear, hospitals hired more radiologists after AI became widely used in scan analysis, as departments handled higher scan volumes, treated more patients, and generated more revenue.
