UAE hospitals deploy AI system to capture and analyze operating room procedures across competing health systems.

The platform will be deployed across hospitals run by Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, PureHealth, Mediclinic, and NMC Healthcare. Cameras and recorders capture video, audio, and patient data including imaging and monitor readings from operating rooms.

Initially designed as a learning tool: surgeons can review recordings of their own procedures, share clips with colleagues, and analyze performance. Pre-operative team briefings, typically coordinated over WhatsApp or handwritten notes, can be digitized and stored centrally. Long-term ambition includes real-time guidance with navigation to locate anatomical structures based on a patient's file before surgery begins.

Competing hospitals will share operating room data under standards set by the Department of Health. The regulator may eventually use the data to recommend specific surgical approaches for certain procedures or determine optimal timing, based on patterns in patient recovery outcomes.
