Peter Thiel acquires $12 million mansion in Buenos Aires as interest from Silicon Valley in Argentina grows

PayPal co-founder and Palantir Technologies Chairman Peter Thiel purchased a 17,200-square-foot estate in Buenos Aires' Palermo Chico neighborhood for about $12 million, designed by Argentine architect Alejandro Bustillo and featuring six en-suite bedrooms and a marble staircase.

The acquisition follows reported meetings between Thiel and Argentina's President Javier Milei, who has implemented a libertarian austerity program that has drawn significant interest from Silicon Valley capital.

A Buenos Aires-based consultancy indicated the purchase "won't be his last property purchase" and noted that Thiel's associates are actively scouting additional assets in the city.
