Partners are described as supplying trusted relationships and shaping programs around the work people actually do, which is why the next step is teaching partners to run the sessions themselves rather than expanding OpenAI-run events.

The stakes seem to hinge on whether that handoff holds. Partner organizations must pass a facilitation assessment before leading sessions, and the company frames the effort as a pilot with the longer-term goal of people having someone in their community to turn to as needs and tools evolve. Whether the 250-plus events and 4 million engagements turn into durable local teaching capacity, rather than one-off workshops, is the open question.
